01

Create a Cargo project

Choose Rust from New Project. Select whether you want a binary application or a library and enter the project name.

02

Install Rust while creating

If the Rust toolchain is not ready, the Rust Project screen can install the required Rust development tools and continue into project creation.

03

Run from the editor

For a Rust project, the editor can start the Cargo project in a terminal so build output remains visible.

04

Core Cargo commands

Use standard Cargo commands for build, run, check, tests, formatting and linting.

Commands
cargo build

Build the project.

cargo run

Run the binary project.

cargo check

Run fast compiler diagnostics.

cargo test

Run tests.

05

Rust editing

Rust files are recognized by VauCode file/editor workflows, including Monaco syntax handling for .rs files.
