01

Choose a Python template

The Python Project screen supports three current templates.

Basic Python for a straightforward main.py-based project.
FastAPI for an API/server starter.
Flask for a Flask web application starter.
02

Basic Python project

The basic template includes a main entry file, requirements file and project guidance. Open a .py file and use the editor Run button to execute it in the VauCode terminal.

03

FastAPI and Flask

Framework templates include a server entry point and dependency list. Install the required packages once, then use the editor Run button. VauCode reuses the terminal and local port preview flow.

04

Virtual environments

Use a virtual environment when you want project-specific Python packages rather than sharing everything globally.

Commands
vaucode python venv .venv

Create a project virtual environment.

pip install -r requirements.txt

Install the project's listed dependencies.
