The editor's Data group toggles the filters/data-operations surface. Workbook sheet state supports filter/sort-oriented metadata used by the spreadsheet workflow.

Filters and sorting work best when the sheet uses a clear header row and consistent columns rather than merged cells scattered through the data region.
