Documentation rule: this VauSheet section describes the current implemented product behavior. It avoids claiming full Microsoft Excel parity or live-cursor collaboration where the current build does not provide it.
01

Create from Dashboard

A workbook must have a name before creation.

01

Select Create Worksheet

Use the primary dashboard action.

Expected result

The workbook naming dialog opens.

02

Enter a workbook name

Use a descriptive name such as Sales Planning 2026.

Expected result

The Create action becomes meaningful for the intended workbook.

03

Create

Submit the dialog.

Expected result

VauSheet creates the authenticated workbook metadata and adds it to your list.

04

Open

Choose the newly created workbook.

Expected result

The editor loads or seeds its initial sheet state.

02

Naming guidance

Workbook title is editable later from the editor, so use a business-friendly label rather than encoding technical ids into the title.

03

What gets created

The workbook list record and the full spreadsheet payload are separate concerns: metadata/version control lives in the database layer while the workbook document is stored by the workbook storage service.
