Documentation rule: this VauSheet section describes the current implemented product behavior. It avoids claiming full Microsoft Excel parity or live-cursor collaboration where the current build does not provide it.
01

Single-cell selection

Click a cell to set the active focus. The active cell drives formula-bar content and the default target for many formatting actions.

02

Range selection

Drag across cells to create an anchor-to-focus range. Range-aware actions use the selected rectangle rather than only the focused cell.

03

Column-level context

Column formatting can apply when a whole-column selection is recognized; cell-level formatting remains available for ordinary ranges.
