Short Answer
Use Short Answer for compact responses such as name, city, code, department or a one-line answer.

Long Answer
Use Long Answer when respondents may need multiple lines, such as feedback, address details, issue descriptions or notes.

Maximum characters
Short Answer and Long Answer now include a Maximum characters rule. Leave it blank for unlimited text, or enter a positive limit when the answer must stay concise. The current editor supports limits up to 10,000 characters.

Respondent character counter
When a maximum is configured, the public form shows the respondent how many characters they have used against the limit. The same rule is checked when the response is submitted.

Other text-field settings
You can still configure the question label, help text, placeholder, Required state and Full/Half field width from the selected field settings.
